Then comes along this conversation in which the implication is that aim assist is actually an aim bot where the computer actively moves your crosshairs closer to target. Then there was the post you just mentioned, in which I stated in an exaggerated way my distaste for aim assist. Later, I started investigating the oddities of the game, and found info that the aim assist is indeed a change in the sensitivity of your inputs. I didn't know the details and at the time didn't care, though I suspected it was a sensitivity thing. I turned off aim assist when I installed the game. The setting of Hot Keys to switch weapons quickly is also now advantageous and using the Voltaic Amplifier with the Paralysis Mortar to destroy sentinels quickly with any weapon.Ah, so it is a misunderstanding of my earlier post then. Neutron Canon is best weapon for monstrosities now with its wide AOE. Max the fire rate on the Pulse Splitter or neutron Canons and the sentinels and monstrosities don't stand a chance. Recoil stabilising upgrades are the most useful and also Fire Rate. Just don't get in the way of the Plasma Grenades and use bounce to at least give a an extra second to escape out of any danger zone if needed. Max out the AOE effecs of things like the Neutron Canon and Grenades there is no need to even be accurate. I never seem to use the combat scanner except occasionally with the Blaze Javelin. There are Recoil upgrades that can be installed and also a combat scanner? The recoil I use a lot with the boltcaster. I've never had a probelem at all aiming with a controller. It's a lot of fun battling sentinels since the improved AI update. I use a controller with my PC and would not be without it.
